I’m proud to announce that Stash, one of my more popular WordPress themes for writers and bloggers, will soon fully support new Gutenberg block editor, arriving in WordPress 5.0.

The release is scheduled for Monday, November 26th, 2018 — the day before WordPress 5.0 launches.

Embracing the block editor

Stash takes full advantage of the shiny new WordPress block editor, providing one of the absolute best writing experiences you’ll find using WordPress. This 2.0 update features a true one-to-one WYSIYG editor preview, full support for the new alignment options in WordPress 5.0, a beautiful theme color palette and specific editor font sizes that suite Stash perfectly.

Adding full support for Gutenberg is no easy task, but it’s one I’m well accustomed to. Stash is the fifth WordPress theme in my collection to receive full compatibility with Gutenberg. And most assuredly, it isn’t the last. I plan on updating the vast majority of the active ThemeBeans catalog with enhanced support for the new block editor.

Extended support for CoBlocks & Block Gallery

This update bakes in support for CoBlocks and Block Gallery – two Gutenberg block projects that I’ve been cooking up. CoBlocks is a suite of editor blocks for content marketers and writers while Block Gallery is a collection of gallery blocks for Gutenberg.

Both block plugins fit perfectly with Stash, letting folks publish beautifully rich content with a focus on marketability and beautiful presentation. Ace.

Other notable changes and improvements

I took some time to deploy a fresh coat of styles, adding a modern touch to the classic appeal of Stash and I’ve removed the Font Awesome dependency, in lieu of an SVG sprite. ?

In all, Stash is a much better WordPress theme and is fully primed for this next generation of WordPress.

Leading the next generation of Gutenberg WordPress themes

Our themes power thousands of blogs, portfolios, small business sites and more — and we don’t take that lightly. ThemeBeans is committed to the future of WordPress, leading the next generation of Gutenberg WordPress themes.

WordPress 5.0 is absolutely a massive leap forward for content creation within the core WordPress editor. And combined with Gutenberg friendly WordPress themes such as Stash, I’m confident you’re going to love publishing in WordPress even more.
